Welcome!
My message is for 20 to 30 year olds who may or may not be married, who may or may not have kids, who may or may not earn a lot of money, who may or may not be thrifty spenders, who may or may not be well versed in financial matters. It doesn’t matter if you’re a single, 21 year old McDonald’s hamburger maker fresh out of college searching for a full-time job and living with 3 friends in an old, beat-up apartment or a 30 year old executive vice president with a spouse, 4 kids, and a house in an upscale neighborhood. The principles of smart financial management can be adopted and conquered by anyone. I cannot stress enough the importance of living a financially fit life as a young adult. You have so many wallet-wrenching events ahead of you, so many crucial decisions you’re going to have to make, and time is on your side.If every young adult had even a small amount of financial wisdom, there would be so much less stress in their futures.
Just think about your own personal future... when you’re in your mid to late fifties. You’re either starting to think about when you want to retire or when you want your husband/wife to retire. You have children and grandchildren that live far away. You have desires to see the world when you finally are free from the constraints of work. How much easier would it be if you did not have to worry about money? How much more do you think you could go see your family, go see the sights, and live to your heart’s content? How much more do you think you could give to causes you believe in, to your church, and to the people around the world that need it? Isn’t this an inviting situation to see yourself in?Well I’m here to tell you today that in order for this to happen, you have to start now to become more financially competent and intelligent. Without being so, your life just might be a constant struggle with the lack of monetary resources.
